Leaving Care?


Moving out of care and into independent living is a big move. Young people should know what rights they have, what to expect and what they are entitled to.

The average age of young people leaving care in Scotland is under 17, compared to 25 for young people leaving home. All the young people in this film are at various stages of leaving care or are now living independently. Their experiences highlight the many different routes to independent living, but with the right support and guidance, it should be a positive experience!
