Research published on drug attitudes in adolescents

The Scottish Government has published survey evidence that shows softening drug attitudes in adolescents in Scotland. The Scottish Schools Adolescent Lifestyle and Substance Use Survey , undertaken between September 2015 and January 2016, found that around 24 per cent of 15 year olds thought it was ‘ok’ for someone of their age to try cannabis, with that drug also being the most widely used: 17 per cent of 15 year olds surveyed had used the drug. The survey sampled 31,147 school pupils and was based on a 53 per cent class and pupil response rate.
